Lakeside Beginning
From the moment we arrived at The Lake Como EDITION, we felt incredibly welcome. The wonderful bell team took charge of our extremely heavy bags, and the moment we walked through the doors, the team knew exactly who we were. It was the perfect beginning to the first chapter of Volume II.
Our room was not quite ready, which gave us the ideal excuse to enjoy a glass of Prosecco in the welcome lounge. Carla then showed us around the beautiful lobby, elevators and restaurant before we headed up to the terrace for a light lunch overlooking Lake Como.
There, we met Leonardo—not DiCaprio, but he might as well have been—and Jarod, who shared stories from his own EDITION journey. The setting was beautiful, the food was delicious and the hospitality made it an especially lovely first afternoon.
When our room was ready, we discovered that we had been wonderfully upgraded. It had gorgeous views across Lake Como, a little living room and dining area, and a bed that was extremely difficult to leave. We relaxed for a while before joining Anton, the GM, and several other guests in the penthouse for a tour, welcome drinks and a meet-and-greet.
That evening, we had dinner at Cetino. We enjoyed amazing pasta, a beautifully curated radish and sea bass dish, and a lovely pepper-and-cheese creation. The restaurant team was fun, quirky and completely charming, while Coco—the incredibly creative bartender—made us a memorable lavender cocktail.
At around 10 p.m., we called it a night and returned to our room, where we watched the lights twinkling across Lake Como. It was one of those quiet moments that makes you stop and appreciate exactly where you are.
The following morning, we returned to the terrace for breakfast: avocado toast, eggs Benedict and French toast, all accompanied by that extraordinary lake view. When the weather cleared, we headed down to spend some time beside the floating pool set directly on the lake. It is such a special feature—and a wonderfully peaceful place to relax.
Then came the moment we had really been waiting for.
We gathered in the lobby for our official passport signing, where the team came together to see the passports and help us complete the very first stamp in Volume II of The Edition Passport. After a little celebratory game of pool, it was sadly time to return upstairs, pack those very heavy bags again and say goodbye.
The Lake Como EDITION was not simply another hotel visit. It was the beginning of our next volume: a lakeside chapter filled with warm welcomes, familiar faces, wonderful food, creative cocktails and an entire team who made our family feel known from the moment we arrived.
